A Pokémon TCG Restock API: What It Is and Who It's For

Every restock alert our app subscribers get is also available as data. The bujusjujus Alerts API gives a card shop, an app, a Discord bot or an AI assistant the same thing: what just came in stock and where, what it costs against MSRP, and when each retailer tends to restock.

TL;DR:

  • One API, three ways in. Connect an AI assistant over the Model Context Protocol (MCP), hold a long-poll from your own code until the next drop, or have each alert pushed to your server as a signed webhook.
  • A free tier, no card. A free key returns the same alerts five minutes later, which is enough to build and test against real data. The Live tier delivers them in real time.
  • Built for people who sell, build or automate around Pokémon TCG, not for scalping: the terms rule out automated purchasing.

What you get

Each alert is a small, predictable object:

{
  "id": "c108d9022699463c",
  "detectedAt": "2026-09-23T21:00:12.497Z",
  "retailer": "target",
  "kind": "restock",
  "title": "Pitch Black Elite Trainer Box",
  "productUrl": "https://www.target.com/p/-/A-...",
  "confidence": "high",
  "endedAt": null,
  "price": 49.99,
  "msrp": 49.99,
  "markupPct": 0
}
  • A clean retailer link. The link is always on the retailer's own site, with tracking and affiliate parameters stripped.
  • Price, MSRP and markup, so you can tell a fair price from a reseller price at a glance.
  • A confidence flag. high is a confirmed sighting at the retailer; low is an unverified report. Your app or agent should never present a low alert as confirmed.
  • An endedAt time once the item sells out, so a feed can mark it gone.

Alongside the alerts there are lookups: the tracked product catalogue, the MSRP for any product, and restock activity by retailer over the last 1 to 90 days.

Coverage is the same as the app: Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, Pokémon Center, Sam's Club, Hot Topic, GameStop, Costco and Macy's.

Who it's for

Card shops and online sellers

The questions a shop asks every week have data behind them:

  • What is this product's retail price? Pokémon TCG has two pricing eras on shelves at once: Mega Evolution–era booster packs are $4.49 and older Scarlet & Violet packs are $3.99. A wrong MSRP on a quote or a buylist costs money either way. get_product_msrp answers it per product.
  • When are the big-box stores restocking? Retailers keep habits. In our July drop-timing data, 54 of 55 Target restocks landed between 3 and 5 a.m. Eastern. And Walmart.com restocks cluster on Wednesday nights. get_retailer_stats shows which retailers have been busiest lately, so you can plan stock and events around them.
  • What do I tell customers who ask where to find something at retail? A "restocked at retail" feed on your site or Discord gives collectors a reason to keep checking in with you.

Developers and bot builders

If you are building restock alerts into an app, a Discord bot or a website, the API is the part you would otherwise have to build and maintain yourself. A long-poll call waits for the next matching drop and returns it; a cursor means you never miss or double-count one. A webhook pushes each alert to your server with an HMAC signature you can verify. The docs cover every tool, the limits and code you can copy.

AI agents

The API is also a remote MCP server, so an assistant like Claude can use it directly. Add one server and you can ask:

  • "What Pokémon products restocked in the last day?"
  • "What's the MSRP of a Pitch Black Elite Trainer Box, and is $65 fair?"
  • "Tell me the moment a 30th Celebration Ultra-Premium Collection drops at retail."

Setup takes a couple of minutes in Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor or VS Code. The setup guide has copy-paste steps for each.

Creators and communities

Running a feed for your followers works on a Live key, with one rule: anything people outside your organization see has to be at least five minutes past the alert's detection time. Real-time alerts for an audience are available by agreement; email us. If you'd rather recommend the API than run it, the creator program pays 25% of every subscription you refer, including API subscriptions.

Free vs. Live

Reference (free) Live
Alerts The same alerts, five minutes later Real time, no holdback
Tools Recent drops, product catalogue, MSRP, retailer stats Everything, plus in-stock-now, wait-for-drop and webhooks
Calls per day 5,000 20,000
Best for Building, testing, research Anything your customers or users rely on

A five-minute-old alert is fine for research and for building, but not for buying: popular drops can sell out in about a minute. A product your users rely on needs Live. Current pricing is on the key page.

What it isn't for

The API delivers information, not purchases. Our API terms rule out using the data for automated purchasing or to get around a retailer's purchase limits. They also rule out keeping it as a historical archive. If you are building something that sits close to those lines, ask us first.

Get started

  1. Get a free key. Enter your email and open the link we send. No card, no sales call.
  2. Try it: ask an AI assistant (setup) or call list_recent_drops from your own code (docs).
  3. Move to Live when you're ready to run it for real.

Questions: [email protected]. A real person reads it.
